Colour Stylist – Advanced Practical Training

Colour Stylist Advanced: from 6 to 15 Colour Types

After completing the training to become a colour stylist and learning to analyse using the six (or four) basic types, you can expand your knowledge of colour to fifteen types at the Colour Analysis Academy. This is also known as ‘Colour Deepening’. It allows you to refine and expand your colour advice. It’s ideal for stylists, personal shoppers, hairdressers, and makeup artists who want to enhance their expertise.
It’s a complete system that you can work with in many ways, and we have personally developed it and continue to expand it. It makes a colour analysis even more special. While fifteen colour types might seem like a lot, once you start working with them, you’ll find that it’s very clear and easy to apply.

You’ve probably already noticed that not everyone fits neatly into the six basic colour types. There are people who have more options, or for whom both warm and cool colours look good. This becomes especially clear when you work with individual colour drapes. For example, it may turn out that besides cool colours like black, pink, and navy pink, shades like brown, moss green, and coral also suit someone. This person could well belong to the Dark colour type or Winter-Autumn. The Winter-Autumn type is specifically developed for darker skin tones, which you will learn about during the Masterclass People of colour.

Planned courses

  • 15 and 30 November
  • 25 January & 14 February 2025

Please contact us if a date doesn’t suit you, so we can discuss alternatives. Courses are organized throughout the year, and you are very welcome to join.

Liesbeth is a Bright-Warm colour type. Bright, warm colours suit her best.

Colour Stylist Advanced: nine additional colour types

The nine additional colour types are less common but equally important. These include Soft Winter, Cool Muted, Brightt Warm, Muted, Light, Medium, Dark, Dark II, and Dark Autumn. For example, between the summer and spring types, there is Light. This is someone who can wear both light warm and cool colours. Think of the blue and green tones of the Summer type, along with the pink and red shades of the spring type. The Bright Warm colour type suits spring colours, but the colours can be more intense.

Once you start working with them, you’ll see how clear and straightforward it is. Many people have already come through who previously had a colour analysis that didn’t feel quite right. With the 15 colour types, it’s possible to give a more personalised and accurate colour advice.

You will not only learn which colours suit someone best but also how to analyse a client’s personality and incorporate it into the colour advice. Are they introverted or more outgoing? Do they need formal clothing or casual attire? Do they wear makeup or not? You can integrate all of this information into the colour advice, so clients truly feel the colours fit them perfectly.

The Colour Stylist Advanced course is scheduled every quarter. Check the dates in the calendar. If the days don’t suit you, get in touch so we can arrange alternative dates or organise a training session for you.
Would you prefer to come by yourself? Book a private lesson.

A colour consultation can be given anywhere as long as you have the right knowledge and materials. I’m happy to teach you how to do this.
